Schneider Electric Announces Thai Debut of EcoStruxureTM,Active Architecture for Integrated Energy Management Solutions
Global energy management specialist Schneider Electric today took energy efficiency in Thailand to new heights with its Thai debut of EcoStruxure™ solution architecture, an integrated approach which unites the company’s unique expertise in power, datacentres, process and machines, building control, and physical security to enable intelligent energy management solutions for customers seeking to optimise energy efficiencies across multiple domains of their business. Addressing a trend where the demand and consumption of limited energy resources keep growing, the launch is targeted at office buildings, factories, and upscale residential premises. The new architecture boasts up to 30% better energy efficiency.
“Energy demand and consumption are on the rise,” said Nelson Yeap, Schneider Electric’s Country President for Thailand and Laos, “and the trend is especially apparent in emerging economies, which together account for almost half of the global energy consumption each year, driven by their robust economic growth and increasingly intensified utilization of technologies.”
“Schneider Electric has therefore taken a new development approach to energy management in order to optimize efficiency, which finds itself at the heart of long-term energy strategies. In our latest effort, we have launched the EcoStruxureTM solution architecture that reduces inefficiencies and increases a company’s ability to make invisible energy waste both visible and actionable. With our five domains of expertise, the architecture enables companies in different environments meet their efficiency goals and consequently boost their long-term competitiveness,” he added.
The promise of EcoStruxureTM relies on two main principles. Firstly, EcoStruxureTM is based on the most comprehensive portfolio of purpose-specific applications in five domains of expertise that are essential to solve the energy equation: power, datacentres, process and machines, building control, and physical security. Secondly, EcoStruxureTM is able to connect these five domains of expertise within an open and flexible ecosystem of technology that relies on the use of IP and web services, allowing purpose-specific applications to connect whenever needed, at the right level.
With EcoStruxureTM, businesses can anticipate better results and improvements in operations through systematic energy visibility and real time control of any energy usage. Energy waste in all forms – from electricity and water to mechanical and human – can be captured and mitigated to achieve improved efficiency. About 72% of global energy consumption is currently clustered in industries, high-rises, datacenters, and residences. Using the approach of EcoStruxureTM, we can reduce up to 30% of the energy consumption.
“Schneider Electric’s vision for EcoStruxureTM is simple – develop and deploy an integrated architecture that ties together its five key domains of expertise to make energy safe, reliable, efficient, productive and green,” said Yeap. “What customers need are the connecting solutions that create an intelligent energy management system across all application areas. Schneider Electric will be introducing this architecture to the Thai people at the 26th Thai Electrical & Mechanical Contractors Association Exhibition or TEMCA on August 20-21, 2010 at Pattaya Exhibition and Convention Hall (PEACH), Royal Cliff Beach Resort, Pattaya.”
